WHAT A SHOW!!! I have told all of you in a private email how proud I am of your performances October 25th. It was a terrific day and I have heard nothing but compliments from my friends who attended. Well done, ladies. Well done indeed.
Just a couple of special thanks from my perspective . . .
Thanks to Judy, LuJo, and Betty for being on the show committee. Thanks to Becky, Judy, Rebecca and Lujo for doing a wonderful job performing as Jubilee. Thanks to Diane and Fran for their work on tickets and to Ginger and Mary Ann for the terrific show program. Thanks to Rebecca for stepping up to direct the "ensemble" numbers. Thanks to Rare Blend for using our show to announce their reunion and special thanks to Vocal Express and Chordruplets for their wonderful contribution. <Wasn't it a hoot singing the finale with everyone?> Thank you to all who took on assignments and volunteered for the various tasks which have to be accomplished to carry off something like this. As always, we appreciate our board for their assistance and guidance. Thanks to an active membership and solid leadership, we have a healthy organization.
So, what's next you might ask? Well, we will be learning a couple new songs and starting to think seriously about our AC&C (Area Contest and Convention) April 17th and 18th. We had 27 on the risers for our show and there are about 28 of you who have indicated an intention to attend the convention. I would absolutely love to put 30 singers on the risers in Jacksonville. If we can do that we would definitely be one of the larger choruses and that would be a wonderful thing considering this will be our first official contest.
Now that the show is over, we will be back to some less stressful rehearsal scenarios so this would be a great time to bring some of your friends to visit. We are growing and improving musically mostly because of your efforts on our behalf. Please don't let up just because the show is over.
Have I told you recently how proud I am to be your Director?

Tips for good vocal health:
- Drink plenty of water. Other fluids like coffee, tea and soda are not as effective at hydrating and lubricating the vocal folds.
- Try not to drink iced or very cold beverages just before you sing. Room temperature water is best.
- Try not to clear your throat when you have excess mucous. It is better to rinse and swallow.
- Avoid talking excessively in areas where there is a high level of ambient noise such as parties or in automobiles.
- Get plenty of rest, especially the two nights immediately preceding a big show, performance or contest appearance.
